This work started as a tribute to the author's children by sharing with them every piece of her heart for now and in the future. One of the intentions was that it would always be a reference to "what Mama thinks about the matter.” After some conversation with her children, it evolved into what you have in your hands. This book explores a compilation of serious topics and gives the reader a whimsical, but pragmatic look at life. It's the first of many installments because life is so full, exciting, layered, it can be difficult at times, but life is a gift! This book is a labor of love that "unwraps" life and will give readers hope and encouragement through different seasons of life through lessons rooted in the author's faith and love for God, for her family, and her friends.

God gave me a vision about how we as women oftentimes get caught up in believing that we are not good enough, we’ve made too many mistakes in the past, we’ve tried and failed, or that we are just too stretched...not stretched to improve or challenge ourselves, but stretched to capacity! I am reminded of The Woman with the issue of Blood (Luke 8:43-48). While many women in the Bible are named, her name is not highlighted, matter of fact, I have never been able to find her name in The Bible. I have a theory...I believe God wanted us to be able to “fill in the blank.” We are just like her, we all have issues, and just like her, they may have been going on for years. I am more convinced than ever, we all have issues in the areas of our lives that we want to make better. We all have issues, what is your “issue”? Whatever the issue may be, let's trust God and have the faith to know that God can heal that issue. Nothing is impossible to them that believes! (Mark 9:23)

When I was younger, I was a BIG dreamer I spent a lot of time writing, having make believe friends, and thinking about what I wanted to be when I grew up. I found that writing things down helped me organize my thoughts, make things clearer, and allowed me to focus on my many dreams because they were written down. One of those things that I dreamed about was being an author! That means that you are holding one of my dreams in your precious hands!!! So that brings us here...why are you holding this journal in your hands? Because Dreaming BIG Is Easy!! Write each of your dreams down because everything starts with a dream! I hope that every young man dreams their way to a purpose-filled life!

In March of 2020, the Governor of the State of Alabama went on television to announce the closure of all state and city operations. Schools, businesses and churches closed their doors to avoid the assembly of crowds gathering in one place. The nation was under attack by an unknown virus that was attacking person to person. The death toll was rising to levels this generation had not known, and for the first time in my more than sixty (60) years in the ministry, we were called upon to find alternative ways to communicate God’s word to a sinful and dying people. It was the preacher’s job to try to get the word to the people. Christ commands, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, but he that believeth not shall be damned.” (Mark 16:15-16) This series of sermons will touch the lost, the unbeliever, the heartbroken, the lonely, the sick, the bereaved, the faithless, and the faithful.

I believe that creating writing through journaling is a great way for young people to dream about whatever God puts in their hearts. There are no rules, boundaries, or limits, they can just write! I hope that every young woman finds their place of peace through their journaling experience!

This book is based on a project completed at the Birmingham Theological Seminary entitled, “Decline in Adult Attendance of Sunday Church School (SCS).” Mobile Heights Baptist Church (MHBC) had seen a decline in numbers and subsequent spiritual growth. The decline in SCS may have been because there had been a decline in church attendance. Because our society is changing, some have suggested the age of the SCS is in the past. This might be the consensus of many, but I have great faith in the SCS ministry and the role it plays in spiritual growth. The future of SCS is bright and I believe God is using the SCS as the evangelistic and educational arm of the church. The SCS ministry must become the foundation of the church, however what we now know is that Virtual Worship is thriving, and Small Life Groups are also sustainable for God’s people and their growth. You will clearly see that the old is again becoming new!
This book will reemphasize some traditional SCS principles and present some new techniques. I would simply ask each reader to open your mind and heart. Be amenable to this fact - Sunday Church School (SCS) will always be a viable church ministry. SCS still has a plan, purpose and promise for YOU!
